Can an AI assistant on our website answer visitors and qualify leads?

Yes, it can answer visitors, at any hour, in a conversation that asks who they are and what they need. Qualifying is the part I keep with a person: the assistant collects the conversation, and someone who knows the business reads the transcript and decides whether it is a lead worth following up.

Evidence

This website has one. The AI Advisor answers visitors from its chat page whenever they arrive, day or night. It talks about how AI could fit their business, asks who it is talking to and what their role is, and points them to articles on this site that match what they describe. Here it is answering a sample question on the live site.

Behind the chat, a follow-up daemon watches the conversations. Once a conversation with more than one message has been quiet for a few minutes, it emails me the full transcript. I read every one and decide which visitors are leads and which were just curious, so no conversation is lost and no decision about a lead is left to the AI.

The Advisor answers visitors at any hour, and it is live on this site now, so you can talk to the same assistant described here.

What it takes

A person who reads the transcripts. The assistant collects the conversations; someone on your side reads them, decides which are leads and follows up.

Clear instructions about your business. The assistant needs to know what you offer, who you serve and what to ask a visitor, so its answers and questions stay on topic.

Your own content to point to. Articles and service pages give the assistant somewhere useful to send visitors when they describe a problem you have written about.

A small build. A chat page on your site, a language model behind it, and a follow-up job that emails each finished conversation to the right inbox.

The honest limits: the assistant is good at general guidance, not at commitments. Anything that matters, such as a price, a timeline or a promise, should come from a person.

Next step

The best way to judge it is to try it. Ask the AI Advisor a question about your own business and see how it answers.
